The two of wands signifies future planning and the progress, decisions, and feelings that go into such things. When I was in Florida, it was the nesting season for green herons in the salt swamps near my mom’s house. I took these photos as references and it actually wasn’t until I saw the photo of the young green herons on the branch (with the mother looking on in another photo ) that I knew they were meant to be the two of branches. Looking on with such anxiety, fear, and excitement for the new journey they are about to embark on. I used to not like green herons as a kid, but as I did the drawing/ color separation for this card, I realized how truly beautiful and fascinating they are.
The two of branches features a young green heron, two mangrove branches, and the mangrove orchid (Brassavola nodosa) . The orchid is native to the Yucatán and starts to bloom at the early evening hours releasing a sweet smell with it. They can get as tall as 6 ft.
