Future Resident--Coco Spadoni

Coco Spadoni is a Seattle based interdisciplinary artist and arts advocate. Spadoni’s work focuses on an imaginative trajectory of histories, a religious fumbling, where queerness and Catholicism meet in rituals, aesthetics and imagery. Blurring boundaries between the two,  they are exploring textual evidence, queer spaces that have already reclaimed religious motifs, and traces of ephemera, to realize a hybrid of language. Spadoni explores a threshold teetering between earnest sacrament and frivolous campiness using installation, manipulated found objects and ceramics. They hope to spend their time at The Future exploring queer methods of healing, and completing an audio component for a future installation.

October 13: Concocting Queer Scripture

A generative (writing and visual art) workshop facilitated by interdisciplinary artist and Future resident Coco Spadoni.  In this two hour workshop we will be exploring textual evidence, queer spaces that have already reclaimed religious motifs, and traces of ephemera to craft our own queering of religion. Collectively we will name our own disciplines and prophets.
7-9pm.
