Andrea Jacobs is an artist, printmaker, plant enthusiast, and tattoo artist from Minneapolis, MN. With a multidisciplinary practice, she focuses mostly on screen printing and drawing, but continually floats between other medium including, painting, sewing, paper-making, and textile work.
Her work lives on the intersection of science and spirituality, stirring together the tangible with the intangible. By illustrating flora and fauna and exploring their intricate and complex detail she mediates on life, death, and the interconnectedness of all things. She’s continually drawing inspiration from the realms of botany, ecology, herbalism, poetry, folklore, and ritual.
Resident Andrea Jacobs will be gathering the input of various herbalist/witches/makers/community members on how they use plants and/or herbs in their ritual practice. She will make a workbook/zine and some art prints inspired by this information. This is a community workshop to share the final products along with community plant rituals.
8-10pm. $5 materials fee.
